I need to give my hugest thanks to the most wonderful and supremely talented @swan-heda who made this incredible edit for the story. Look how beautiful it is! I feel blessed and wholly undeserving of it but it’s mine now and I’m running off into the sunset with it. But first I gave her many bows. Like the tipping your torso forward kinds and not the kinds you wear in your hair. And even more excitement – she’s made me two more edits which are equally as gorgeous. I’ll be sharing those soon as well.

You are probably right, I was only speculating – but I do think you are saying this about the wrong show. They’ve always been willing to shock Clarke (and the audience).
In fact, the show has been a long series of shocks for her. Witnessing her father’s murder, Wells’ death, her mother’s betrayal, Lexa’s betrayal and death, mercy-killing Finn, Anya’s murder, genocide at Mt. Weather, etc. There might be a weird symmetry if she did accidentally kill her mother (all those who have ‘betrayed’ her at some point end up being killed in relation to her or her relationship with them, ie: Finn, Lexa – Anya is an arguable point). It would shock her out of her Jaha-stupor (the man who ordered the death of her father, no less), and would re-orientate sympathy from the audience.
But who knows? You’ll find out in a few hours. And I’m always wrong.
I only speculated on this as a means to move Clarke out of her predicament, and one way of moving on from the bunker back to Arkadia (where we’ve seen spoiler shots). I think the end is going to be Clarke in ‘solitary’, alone (save for the flame), maybe in Becca’s lab? I hope her hair doesn’t fall out. Last year, it was questionable. Watch her draw images of the Ark and space on Becca’s walls. 🙂
