There is so much (likely) unintentional humour in 3×16:

– The City of Light is full of serious-looking people headed to work – except Jasper who is wandering around with a goofy smile and an ice cream.

– CoL Jasper thinking he could stop them entering the kill switch portal with his mere body.

– Lexa punching Jasper.

– Jasper’s real body reacting to Lexa’s punch.

– Abby crouched ninja-style with a gun in front of Clarke – nobody touching her baby.

– Ontari, The Really Useful Mostly Dead Nightblood.

– Alie’s chippies scaling Polis Tower only to be stopped on the ‘greased side.’  (Off screen, but it would have been funny)

– Bad CGI sky in the CoL.  Needs an upgrade. Oh. Wait.

– Little Alicia Clark showing up on her pink bike to show her soulmate Elyza Lex where the kill switch portal is.

– Really bad ADR due to crappy script leaving all the good stuff out.

– Twist: Alie trying to save everyone from the after effects of the holocaust she created when she first tried to save everyone…with a holocaust.

To Watch Or Not To Watch?

With Thursday’s finale fast approaching, the question of whether to watch the episode live or at all presents itself.

Let us begin by stating that if episode 3×07 triggered you, we highly recommend that you do not risk watching it live. Instead, we suggest that you wait until a close friend of yours can watch the episode and advise you about what is best for you.

With that being said, we acknowledge and understand the desire, if not the visceral need, to see and say a final goodbye to our beloved Heda. Some of us want to say goodbye too. But if you decide to watch, maybe avoid doing it alone. Watch with some friends, or try to connect through skype with other LGBT Fans who are also watching.

Finally, if the content is triggering and you are feeling depressed, hopeless, worried you may harm yourself or, if you just want to talk, please contact someone: a relative, a friend, or one of the hotlines below.

Be safe. You are not alone.

Good support links here, please share and take care of yourselves.

Anyone who needs, I’ll be about to chat.

ICYMI.  Please share support links.

The harm done was real and ongoing.  It’s nothing to mock or question.

I don’t have idea of what will happen, but I know what we’ve been living since 3×07. Please, take care of yourself.

Listen to Javi – if you are afraid this will hurt you, take some time and stay away this Thursday. Ask someone you trust to watch it first.

We’ll find safe links to download for you and we’ll find lists with trigger warnings.

If anything happens, remember we’re here and you can talk to people about it.

Just expect the absolute worst and then you can be pleasantly surprised if it’s not, ok? PROTECT YOURSELF FIRST.

I will be watching the show for you and tell if anything triggering happens. I promise.

3×16 Support

I worked with a lot of kids after 3×07, so many triggered into self-harm, depression, damaged self-esteem, even suicidal thoughts.  So many for whom Lexa was a beacon, a positive representation, cruelly stolen.  These are kids who struggle with trying to represent themselves, triggered by the disdain of those who simply do not care, by society and industry that still won’t recognise them, or just uses them, or by those who would rather be petty about a ‘ship’ instead of trying to understand (much less support) a minority that has so little on their side.

I know it’s been hard for some to empathise with the snark, the anger, the ‘negativity’ of some (and yes, we’ve got some seriously messed up messages on all sides), but please, if you can, put that aside for a bit and try to show some supportive behaviour as the last episode airs.  If you know of kids who have been triggered, who are hurting, share a hug, even if just in a virtual sense, it doesn’t have to be much.  Share support lines.  Offer to watch for someone and give them a good opinion on whether they might be triggered or not.  A little kindness can do so much good.

I’ll be posting support network numbers for tomorrow, if you can, please share them.

And if you are friends with Bellarke fans, maybe you could reach out to them too, and ask them for what they’d like if the tables were turned.  There is a positive side to that fandom and a toxic one, too.  Maybe those positive voices could help wash out the negative.  Mocking kids over what they care about (and this goes in all directions) shouldn’t be what defines anyone.  For one night, at least, there can be a truce.

Be safe, be kind.
