Looks like someone has decided ADC should always look like a reckless Hollywood ingenue from a sordid 40s or 50s noir, one step ahead of a scandal sheet about her and some third-tier mobster (while her fans dream of her with the mobster’s nubile, hard-drinking bombshell blonde daughter).

I really thought in 2016/2017 we were so far beyond that, yet it seems like the current climate is bringing everyone back to that primal, alpha level and it’s really interesting to see how that coincides so well with the themes of the show.

She can never just say ‘well, look at the racism going on in Dump’s America, and the racist immigration shit going on and white supremacy resurging and we’re totally covering it in our show’ – she has to give you this intense, wordy commentary that sounds like she’s been reading The Guardian in her sleep and you know, one day, she’s going to be labeled this eccentric recluse like Greta Garbo and tell everyone to ‘leave her alone’ and retire early from her career to focus on that pile of books she keeps by the bed and there will be sightings and essays and a documentary and no, no one left her alone, not for a moment.

I always have a laugh seeing this – since it’s over ADC’s shoulder, there’s no actual snogging going on, but you can tell ET must have been having fun messing with her for the shot (watch her right hand and her feet under the blanket).
I can picture the director growing frustrated and deciding this was the best take they were going to get. 🙂
