After reading Lifted I REALLY want to read some smut in The Flame and the Dame so jot that down. j/k but seriously you need to write more smutty crack stuff we’re feeling a little dry out here

I’m very glad you liked the story – I’m still not sure it *is* smut.  I might have misunderstood that.  I think the one who can really write the ‘smutty crack’ is @femininenachos and you should read her Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl (and its related headcanons).

So I don’t know if ‘smut’ will appear in TFATD – ‘love scenes’ maybe?

Thank you for reading and writing in.

hi i am new to youre story but it is very good! will you continue? i would like to know if we learn more about the flame this time? the show did not tell us anything! i would like to know what it is and what it does. is it alive? does it control lexa? can someone else control it? that is so many question! thank you for answering!

Hello there – yes, I do plan to continue, I apologise for no updates in a bit, but I’ve dealt with a noxious plague o’my lungs and now there’s loads of work-related things.  The update is a priority, though.

As for the Flame itself – yes, you will learn more about it, what it does and so forth.  I don’t think the idea behind the Flame was truly thought out to any great degree for the series, so my version of it is just that.  Your questions are very interesting and will be answered in time in the story, but I don’t want to give much away here.

I will say that the idea behind it is fairly simple: Becca wanted to help her injured daughter.  Its creation was an act of love.  How it affects Lexa changes throughout her life as she grows with it and each adapts to the other.

Thank you for reading and writing and for your patience. The story will return.  🙂

Welcome back!! gotta say i was worried you were gona delete so glad you didnt. Are you over the flu? I think we got the same mind on W.W. R u watching Fear? SO GOOD this year like a total SHOCK. Not sure im running with the teenager angst tho. Missing your story too pleaze tell us were getting an update on The Flame soon!

Thank you for the kind message – I’m not sure anyone reads this at all, so it’s always strange (in a good way) to receive messages reminding me someone does.  Thank you again.

I am over the flu, but now have to catch up on everything, so no, have not seen Fear yet, though I’ve heard very good things. I’ve seen some posts though that suggest AC being removed from the main action narrative (in favour of a male love interest) and have thrown out her agency in another round of that adolescent (and possibly suicidal?) angst? If they’re just reducing her to ‘the beautiful but sad girl’ with overdone lighting and morose stares into the distance – what a waste. Hope it’s not true.

I did catch something else though, that made me pause: one of the show’s American sponsors is a weapons manufacturer that supports the NRA.  If the show is going into making commentary about Dump’s racist policies and such (and I read they’ve been killing off a lot of POC characters), having such a sponsor looks rather awful.

Yes, a TFATD update is on its way.  Thank you for being patient and for reading, I appreciate the support!

HOw are you doc? now you back can we get a new chapter on TFATD? Really really hope we can read your Lexa essay too one of these days. Speaking of too did you know there is a petition to bring her back wtih a new Grounders series? Since the petitions worked for S8 maybe we’ll get her back!

Doing better, thank you.  I’m catching up on work-related things, but there will be a TFATD update.  I’ve no idea if I’ll get back to the Lexa piece (I’ve posted bits here and there), but it might pop up one of these days, who knows?

I have heard of the petition and I feel sad  – The ‘Grounders’ were created by Rothenberg. If any such petition did manage to generate enough interest that The CW (they own the property) thought it could make some money on a new series – that series would, in all likelihood either be led by Rothenberg or he would be given considerable say and credit – like a consultant or Executive Producer.  Either way, he gets rewarded.

Is that what this fandom really wants?  The CW and Jason Rothenberg to benefit from what they did?

It would also suit that any such series would never follow a fan-directed narrative.  Since Rothenberg and the network have taken a private oath not to discuss Lexa (or take responsibility for what they did – and continue to be petty towards the fandom that humiliated them), it is unlikely they would make a separate series based around her.  If a petition succeeded in some fashion, a series would likely be built around the first Commanders as a sort of origin story (likely featuring a Lexa-esque character).

So, not something I could support – but I do appreciate and admire the creativity and tenacity of the Clexa fans who continue to re-write the narrative in better ways – I only hope they turn this energy toward making their own original stories that will take over the industry and give us something better.

Why you hate Wonder WomaN?

Never said that I did.

I didn’t relate to the film due to being old, unfortunate heteronormative circumstances in the narrative, and the fact that I was spoiled by years of Xena: Warrior Princess on telly.

Mostly, I was really bothered by Diana seemingly not having one friend on that island who wanted to go with her – basically leaving her to go off with a strange bloke and never be seen by her people again.  These were Amazons. Trained for war and to defeat Ares. Save Diana, not one of them wanted to go and do what they were supposed to do. It’s one thing for the over-protective queen mum to sit back and fret, it’s another when her entire tribe falls in line with it.

That entire island should have followed Diana.  Making them anything less just so Steve Trevor can be her heroic BFF and love interest – heteronormative nonsense I sincerely hope the sequel doesn’t indulge in.

And yes, I realise the film is ‘Wonder Woman’ not ‘Wonder Women’ – but really, in 2017 – it should be.

Doc will you help us with the e poll for best fandom? www(.)eonline(.)om/news/862308/tv-scoop-awards-2017-vote-for-the-best-fandom-and-best-cast-on-social-media-now

No, I’m sorry.

I am furious that Eonline has found a niche in baiting queer fans – especially the Clexa fandom – for their polls.  They KNOW the Clexas will show up.  They put Clexa (and BeIIarke) at the top of this poll’s list, as if they just *knew* those fandoms would be the only ones to compete.  It keeps the toxicity between the two flowing and it’s FREE MONEY for Eonline.

This is a corporate entity that has no real interest in fandoms or anything else. It’s just money. It’s a market they can manipulate.  There is no real prize.  There is nothing to win.  It isn’t real.   I know fans want to keep Clexa in the media eye, keep the fandom ‘on top’ – but there is no need to prove it through a phony ‘poll.’ No need to keep competing against others. You’re being manipulated to make money for a private company that, if you remember last year, didn’t even acknowledge you or hand out actual ‘awards.’   They used you and they are using you again.

I hope in the future that the Clexa fandom will learn to ignore this sort of thing. There is no shame for you if you don’t participate in the poll, if the BeIIarke’s ‘win’ something – if you don’t participate, how did anyone ‘win?’  If they know they can’t bait the Clexas anymore, watch how they won’t include them in their ‘polls.’

We’re better than this and we deserve better than to be used this way.

I know you mean well and it *feels* like something we need to do, something we need to prove – but we really don’t.  We certainly don’t need to do it to give money to a company that could care less about us or representation.  We’re working too hard for nothing.  If you’re going to participate in some action, make sure it counts for something real.
