I don’t think it was ever in the cards (this year at least) for them to attend. Regardless of contractual obligations to their shows (ET has finished filming, but the show is on the air, ADC has started rehearsals/filming for FTWD), it seems they are more likely to attend when they both can appear together. Look out for next year.

Heda and Wee Heda – those costumes are brilliant.
Hey doc are you going to Clexacon? I’m so pissed they coldn’t get Alycia or Eliza. Why couldn’t they? What is the point? Jesus.
No, sorry, not my thing I’m afraid (also: expensive and very far away).
Try not to feel too bad about those two not attending. Chances are, the studio isn’t allowing Eliza (attend a convention setoff by the queerbaiting of her boss? Nah) if she’s still under contract, and CCC might have scared off ADC. 🙂
Keep in mind, too, Clexacon, for all I can tell, isn’t about Clexa per se, but they’re trying to make it a convention to discuss not only the trope, but women in media, queer media, fandom, etc. If it’s successful, there might be a second and perhaps those two will show up next year.
the new gay agenda
Just reminders of the new amendments:
We’re done with having Straight Allies for the queer community. This is too complicated of an idea and leads to controversy. Besides, we really shouldn’t condescend to those with more power and influence than us. Instead, we will work hard to be well-behaved allies to the Straight Community.
There will be no swearing, no nit picking and no looking anyone in the eye. The Straights won’t be our friends if we’re rude or thought-provoking and calling them out on their bullshit, you know.
If we want Straights to ‘do the right thing’ we must always pay up front. No one does the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. If the Straights think we’re being impolite or unsanitary they’ll take back everything!
Oh, and whatever you do – don’t think for yourself. Self-expression will no longer be tolerated. If you do, you’ll be condescended to, badgered and silenced. And don’t call us out for our hypocrisy or the irony of behaving as those who hate us behave, we’ll just blame you for causing all the drama and negativity.
We can’t risk losing our one and only hope just because we need to fill the interwebs with hyperbolic language, paranoia and willful ignorance.
Oh, and finally, @laynemorgan must submit all her tweets and blog posts for our censoring consideration before posting.
have you tried contacting l/ayne? i feel like out of everyone, you would maybe be able to communicate to her why what she’s doing is harmful to the community. you’re rlly level headed and maybe she’ll understand more after hearing your thoughts?
she seems to have a problem with things being discussed ‘in private’. Someone messaged her about looking at my blog, so she saw a few of the posts and then responded to one. I am more than happy to try to discuss with her my thoughts, but i would be afraid that anything we talk about in private she would then post publicly without my consent or permission. Not that i have anything to hide, but posting private conversations without context can lead to people being villianized very easily.

Possibly one of the reasons why she didn’t want to have a ‘private’ conversation with Ben Bateman?
