Feeling bad for Orphan Black/Delphine fans.  It’s rotten that they’ve followed up their cliffhanger from last year with absolutely nothing but tiny teases that will likely only lead to ANOTHER cliffhanger fans have to wait ANOTHER year to see any real resolution over.

That’s terrible writing, OB team.

It’s been a seriously shitty year for lgbtqs and so-called representation.

We really need more Russell T. Davies’ out there, producing programmes that actually care about the quality of the (queer) lives featured on-screen.

Wouldn’t people just shit themselves if it turns out that Shay followed Delphine to the garage (out of curiosity, of course) and saved her after she was shot, only to deliver her to….(Last Five Minutes of Last Episode Big Reveal)?

orphantrash:

But the real question here is how could Felix casually FORGET to tell Cosima that Delphine did not die in that parking garage?

It felt tacked on and makes me concerned we are only going to be ‘told’ things and we will not actually *see* Delphine at all.

So.  Delphine.

Crap writing just ‘telling’ us rather than showing us what happened to her.  Oh, there’s MORE to tease us about?  Gosh.

If they knew they’d only have the actress for five minutes in s4, they shouldn’t have given her a big cliffhanger in s3. Send her back to Germany or whatever, but this?  Rotten form.  They’re dragging it out to fill up the space she isn’t in.  Shame.

Is Delphine still with us?

I believe it is highly likely.  Here’s why:

– Krystal found Delphine and got her help.  Whatever happened between the two of them, galvanised Krystal to find out what is ‘going on.’

– If Krystal found Delphine, a logical place to help her hide is in her own home.  Everyone thinks Krystal is an idiot, so no one is looking at her, and she is even ignored when she ‘investigates’ Brightborn.  It’s possible Delphine has ‘fed’ Krystal some information, perhaps to find out what is going on in Brightborn, but that’s unclear.  Krystal could be acting entirely on her own (but how did she do her ‘research’ that led her to Brightborn?).

– If Delphine is dead, ‘telling us’ she is dead is weak – it also doesn’t hold with Krystal’s ‘tease’ about knowing all about Delphine.  There’s more to the story.

– On the pro-death side, Krystal doesn’t refer to Delphine in any particularly familiar sort of way.  ‘This French doctor,’ isn’t how you refer to someone you know.  However, she was defensive about Donnie knowing who Delphine was (and she assumed Donnie worked for Brighborn) and we know she saw her get shot (why was Krystal in the Dyad parking garage?).

– Delphine would not be with the Neos, she’s not with Susan Duncan – unless there is a twist where we learn Evie Cho hid Delphine and we find her hooked up to a machine at Brightborn (but why?).

The teasing/jocular nature of this season’s narrative (starting with that ‘in memoriam’ video) regarding Delphine highly suggests the character is alive, but, perhaps, not in the best shape.  It also suggests we won’t see much of her.  If, however, the producers are simply that callous about her, that wouldn’t surprise me, either.

It gets to be exhausting being gay and being ‘teased’ by programmes about the fate of gay characters.  It’s so childish.

Wouldn’t it be a little bit funny if we found out that Krystal’s ‘research’ was given to her by Delphine?  That she helped Delphine, and is, perhaps, hiding her and trying to ‘protect’ her?

She seemed awfully angry and shocked that Donnie knew who Delphine was.

Protective?
