Have a Commander Lexa punching a Nazi
this is such an underrated clexa moment like we all notice and talk about protective lexa which is true, but no one’s really talked about why it’s important. Clarke’s face in the second gif says everything. She is scared. She’s 18 and she spent her whole life in a box and suddenly she’s in a foreign place and people are dying and they are at war and she’s right on the front lines and she’s freakin scared. and then there’s lexa, who she has feelings for and who she knows has feelings for her, fighting right next to her, strong and brave, and making sure she’s safe and protected. and you can see even through clarke’s fear that lexa’s support helps her. it helps her find strength and security and makes her feel like she’s not alone anymore. they can do this together.
and that’s what makes lexa’s betrayal later hurt so damn much. clarke truly believed that she and lexa were in it together, that they would fight and win together. “not everyone, not you. you should come with me to the capitol. for those we’ve lost, and those we soon shall find. no, you stay with clarke.”
she truly believed it was her and lexa against the world, until it wasn’t.
Yet another reason why the writers of this show suck.
They destroyed a great alliance just for shock value (having Lexa take a ‘deal’ that made no sense for her to take just so Clarke can be abandoned in the narrative and have everyone hate Lexa). Waste. Waste. Waste.
The dead will be avenged.
#i know everyone is angsting about the village#but THIS CHILD LOST HER PEOPLE LIKE HER FRENDS THAT SHE WAS RAISED WITH AND LOOKED TO FOR SUPPORT#AND SHE MADE THIS CHOICE ESENTIALLY TO PROTECT THE GREATEST NUMBER OF PEOPLE#BY SAVING THE ONES LEFT FROM THE MOUNTAIN MEN#BUT SHE LOST SO MUCH IN DOING IT AND WHY ISN’T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT IT (via commanderlexa)
What if her family was in that village? Her mother, whose arms she was taken from when small, after they found that she bled black?
Here, this – yet another reason why the writers were reductive when it came to writing the Grounders/Lexa – we only see pain in terms of Clarke and her people, what pain did it all cause them, no consideration for the pain of someone like Lexa or her people (aside from cries of Jus drein jus daun).
Yes, you’ll see images of Grounders hurt, agonising even – but the story is never about them.
This comment by @curly1971 is pertaining to my commentary on this post.

I think there’s a pattern emerging here – you have a perception of Lexa that cannot be bargained with and no other version of her is acceptable to you. That’s fine. Enjoy your version of her. Others have different perceptions and enjoy different versions of her. No one deserves to be attacked for what they enjoy. If you need to live without these other points of view, you can. It would probably be a good reason to unfollow me and not pollute yourself with my ‘perceptions’ not that you’ve actually read or understood them from what I can tell, they probably bring you no happiness in any event (though I don’t think I’ve ever read any fiction that presented her as a ‘pathetic dishrag’ being bullied and abused – I’d probably find that offensive as well. But then, I find all abuse offensive).
Go where you find happiness and peace of mind. Best to you.

Since you responded to this from an anon’s post, I’m guessing you never read the actual analysis it was referring to. You might want to do that before you make assumptions (at no point have I ever referred to any specific fan fiction type in my analysis). Even my comments to the anon were entirely critical of Jason and his team, and protective of Lexa. How did you miss that?
I’m guessing you’ve also never read my blog at all since there is nothing even remotely correct about anything you’ve written here or tried to suss about me. If anything, I’ve spent more time defending and being partial to Lexa.
Read up first, that’s what I recommend. Then we can have an actual discussion.
You are welcome and sorry to be so behind on posting. I understand why some want to see Lexa return, even if just for closure, but they’re taking this campaign to the very people who thought killing Lexa and manipulating/abusing their audience over her death was a good thing. They took a shite over these fans, over something they loved, and have shown no care for them since. We don’t beg our abusers to abuse us more. Lexa (and all characters like her) are better off with fan writers who see all the potential vs. those who only know how to write themselves up chimneys.
I think the writing (on the show) for Lexa was queerbaiting from the beginning, from the first kiss (done for ratings), to villainising her in the s2 finale (an absurd twist). I don’t believe they ever intended to bring her back in s3 as Clarke’s love interest, but they saw what the fans had made of her and how the show gained popularity from it and they used that for their own benefit. They concocted a half-arsed storyline making her a chivalrous romantic hero-type doomed to die (for no good reason). They knew about the trope, they knew the fans loved her, they knew this fanbase was bringing them glory – and they threw it all away. They didn’t care. So – fuck ‘em.

autistic-characters-of-the-day:
Autistic Character of the Day: Commander Lexa from The 100
((Stoic, strategic/mathematical thinker, distressed at anything that disrupts her sense of order, requires routine, might be seen as stimming (with her knives), has difficulty expressing emotion, is seen at least once overwhelmed by her feelings/stress to the point of a breakdown))
Thanks for adding her to your list. She’s one of the most audience-hailed autistic characters I’ve ever come across.
I hope my reposting it wasn’t a major trigger for you, that wasn’t my intention and hope you’re okay. I do agree, though, that what happened was so wrong and disrespectful and I do worry about those very fans you mention who are campaigning for Lexa’s return – they’re going to be so disappointed and there is no need for them to be hurt again. I worry, too, that after being so humiliated this past year, he might have written something in just to spite those very fans who helped bring his show such positive attention and acclaim – and who rightly called him out for using and abusing their trust.
I live in Scotland, so no live watching from me, though I’m sure I’ll pay attention to what happens. One thing to watch out for: any interviews/promotional work the cast/crew does. Regardless of how ‘supportive’ fans might imagine these people to be of Clexa/Lexa, this is their job and there is no reason to discuss Lexa at all – and this is bound to lead to more dragging and disturbance in the (ex?) fandom. Again, more agony that need not happen. Anyone harmed by this show, I hope they stay away from all of it. Thank you for writing and apologies for my rambly response.
Sorry, not to that stage yet. I don’t want anyone thinking this is going to be a generic character analysis, but I’m trying to get an overhead view of her from different perspectives (from the show, from the fan’s, antis, media, from my own). It’s a bit of a project.
I’m so very sorry, I’ve not really had much time, but it is still something in the works and will happen. Thanks for being patient with me. 🙂
