now, while net neutrality would only have an effect on Americans whose ISPs decide to no longer abide by net neutrality laws, it will impact people of other countries.

the ending of net neutrality would mean that ISPs can charge more for access to websites, like Tumblr. ISPs can also filter what can and cannot be seen. essentially, the web would no longer be open. this would not happen all at once, but slowly. you would, in some situations, have limited communication with American mutuals. the fandoms, communities, and so on that have developed on social media with American users would be stunted. Help protect your friends and their internet! Signal boost! Spread the word to everyone to encourage American friends to take action!

but here’s the thing, Americans.

we only need one more vote! the congressional review act (CRA) would allow congress to reverse the FCC’s decision to repeal net neutrality. it only requires 83% support to reverse this decision, and we lack one vote. get off your asses, folks. if your senators have not yet pledged, call them! google scripts!

we are the generation we have been waiting for. take a stand. the vote is on April 23rd. fight like we are running out of time, because we are.

And if you’re afraid of the power Trump already wields, hear this: if we don’t show up in the midterms, the Republicans could get a supermajority in the Senate. That means no ability to filibuster. No recourse. No way to stop them.

We’ve got to make sure the blue states stay blue and try to turn some of those red states blue as well. Don’t count your state out just because it usually votes Republican. Historically, midterms have way lower turnouts than presidential election years. So lets actually show up this time and do some damage.

Oh, and one hopeful note, all the House seats are up for reelection. So let’s take that shit away from Donald Trump and his Republican Party. 

Also, remember to vote in local elections! Keep track of when they are, the candidates, and make sure you stay informed on local and state politics. We have to show up in 2018, and at every. Single. Thing.

I dont like adding things but this needs to be said: DO NOT ASSUME THAT THERE WILL BE A HIGH DEMOCRATIC TURNOUT. Do not think that “oh EVERYONE else will show up to vote, I dont have to” Do not do that. Because trust me you wouldn’t be the only person thinking that. Now, if everyone assumes it’ll be a high turn out so they dont go, then nobody goes. Assume always that your vote will be the tipping point, assume that your vote is necessary and needed (because guess what: it absolutely is). Go vote. Keep track of the dates. And just go do it.

Register to vote. Check that you’re registered even if you think you are, even if you (like me) have voted in every election since you were old enough to do so. And then do it.

If you can, volunteer to drive people to the polls.

Re: luciferissatan’s comment – 100% correct – even more correct is that midterms’ low voter turnout? Is because Dems skip the midterms. More Republicans go to the polls for midterm elections, historically, than Democrats.

What it will be is basically if you’re a student in the united states, post a video of you talking about your fears and views on the lack of gun control. We’re posting them all friday so there can be a huge wave of scared voices yelling for change. We’re gonna make them hear us.

Anything related to horror movies! You can make a Clexa AU based on a movie (It au, Paranormal Activity AU, etc), you can write about them watching a movie or making a movie. It could even be a show (Lexark, anyone?)!

October 26th – Thursday: Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts, Zombies

Halloween creatures night! Again, whatever you want- is Lexa an ancient vampire Clarke accidentally woke up? Is Clarke a grumpy ghost haunting Lexa’s home? A Zombieland AU, or a Lexark au? You decide!

October 27th – Friday: Trick or Treat

Are Clexa going trick or treating? Is it a PWP? Is it a fluff fest about girlfriends playing with each other? This one is good to use your imagination.

October 28th – Saturday: Party & Costumes

Did Clarke win a bet so she gets to choose a costume for Lexa? (is Clarke laughing all night because she forced Lexa to costume as a raccoon, or is she having heart palpitations because God Lexa looks hot in that war paint?). Do they meet at a party? Have fun.

October 29th – Sunday: Historical AU

Medieval witchcraft? Original!Carmilla au? Ghost stories in old mansions? Even finding a cursed book that takes them to the past counts. Anything that happens in the past and fits in a Halloween story.

October 30th – Monday: Free Day (aka. SPECIAL TRICK OR TREAT DAY!)

This is the day you can do anything you want! Trick or treat! Post your own choice and/or post your filled prompts from the special Trick or Treat. If you need another idea, you can still go ahead and send an ask to receive a prompt! 

October 31st – Tuesday: Halloween Night (or Witches)

IT’S HALLOWEEN!!!! Any story that happens on a Halloween night, or you can celebrate the day with a witches AU. Harry Potter AU, Charmed AU,  Little Witch Academia AU, etc- it’s a great day for fics and art!
