I’ve not seen Altered Carbon, but I’m seeing gif sets of Dichen Lachman’s character, completely naked, being shared.

I don’t know how appropriate that is, but it makes me curious to know if there is full frontal nudity of any male characters.

If there isn’t, Lachman’s (and other female characters) nude scenes might be seen as exploitative and sharing those images doesn’t help (neither do all the negative reviews around the highly sexualised violence [toward women]).

Just a thought.

For a show so relentlessly depressing, isolating and increasingly incomprehensible, the 100 has inspired some amazing fan art and fiction.

Fairly certain I won’t remember the details of the show itself in ten years, but some of the fan works – I hope many of you go on to conquer the world.

im a bad person who thinks bad thoughts like ‘ew what is that girl wearing’ and then remember that im supposed to be positive about all things and then think ‘no she can wear what she wants, fuck what other people say damn girl u look fabulous’ and im just a teeny bit hypocritical tbh

I was always taught by my mother, That the first thought that goes through your mind is what you have been conditioned to think. What you think next defines who you are.

Danai Gurira on Being a ‘Black Panther’ Rock Star

danaigurirasource:

I would give my eye teeth to protecting and preserving that nation. The idea that little girls can look at those who are closest to their leader and see they are women. And see these women walk the streets and be in charge. I thought how Okoye, as a little girl, must have looked up to that and said, “I want to be that one day. I want to be one of them.” I loved the idea of little girls running up to the Dora Milaje and just looking at them and waving at them as they walked by. I feel that they had to be rock stars in Wakanda. It’s something so important to preserve; that little girl needs to be able to grow up and become an Okoye, or a Shuri (Letitia Wright), or a Nakia; whichever her skills allow. All those things made me very passionate in how I approached the character and the work as a whole.

Week since her surgery, mum’s been in constant pain and discomfort, going in tomorrow for a scan, see if there’s anything missed or what might be wrong.

Another addendum to all the things they never tell you about.

Things I’ve learned being homeless for three months

deadcatwithaflamethrower:

uterusperson:

· things like salt and butter become luxuries

· without an adress, it’s very hard to get your life in order

· toilet paper $6, bread $2, canned beans $2. $10 is one week of living off of bread with beans and being able to go to the bathroom.

· just to apply for unemployment and/or disability is an entire day job.

· the system is set up against you

· you suddenly understand all the hobos on the streets, and you would give them money if you had any

· people will humiliate you, look down on you, hurt you and offend you, just because of your living situation.

· you realize that a lot more people than you think are homeless

· homeless does not mean uneducated

· homeless does not mean dysfunctional, sick, or incapable

· There are homeless people everywhere. You can’t see on someone that they’re homeless; they can still attend college, drive a car and dress nice. Most of us look like you, and many of us have degrees and jobs.

Always remember.
