It’s here! The first (and possibly only) The Hunner podcast featuring @gramjams @weasal and yours truly.

We hope you enjoy listening to it half as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Disclaimer #1: due to time constraints we weren’t able to answer every question that the Kru sent in but we tried to tackle as many as possible. If we didn’t get to yours, very sorry!

Disclaimer #2: we’re podcast virgins so go easy on us. Also, please excuse the loud laughing and our propensity for waffling and talking over each other.

(Superb manip by @gramjams)

***GULP*** IT’S HEEEEEEEERE! The podcast that no-one asked for, but we did anyway!

(I apologise for my EXTREMELY loud voice and laugh….I blame years of DJing for making me slightly deaf.)

We had an absolute blast recording it.

We talked about it for months, and then we actually did it. The Hunner has been unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Like one of those crap deathwaves, except hopefully a bit funnier.

“UNDRESS ME”

important announcement

from now on, every wednesday, at 9 est, i shall release a fuckton of clexa content. i shall continue to do so for as long as the godawful season is airing, and i shall continue to do so well beyond that. my blog is a safe, clexa-filled space for everyone who was affected by 307, for everyone whose stomach coils when they see those sponsored trends, for everyone who feels like they are falling back into despair that hasn’t quite let me go, still.

i remember how much i dreaded thursdays last year. i remember how awful it felt to have my safe space – tumblr – ripped away from me because of all the negativity. i remember beating my panic attack record last march, and april, and may, and june, and – you get the idea. i don’t want that to happen again, not to me and not to you.

on my blog, there will be no mentions of s4. no opinions, no speculations, nothing. on my blog, the show was cancelled in s3. i’m not gona condemn you if you still watch the show – that’s entirely up to you. this is not the “don’t come to my blog if you still watch it” message. i am simply attempting to provide safe space to those who need it.

if you don’t have any means to block content related to the loo, if you are afraid that despite blocks some pieces of info will still make it on your dash, if you’re afraid of checking out today’s trends because seeing the loo up there might send you into a panic attack – for the time being, my blog can become your dash. i can only hope that it will somehow lessen this newly resufraced pain.

to all fandom creators, be it writers, artists, gif/manip/clipmakers – by reblogging this, you can indicate to your followers that you’re going to do the same and that your blog is a safe space, too.

I’m with you babe. Expect safe Clexa content from me on Wednesdays as well.

This is a lovely idea. I still interact with people hurt and needing validation and support and I hope they follow what you’re doing.

I think this is especially kind as so many are dealing now with a new form of anxiety via the real world and sharing things that give you comfort is really important now.

So, a while back there was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion about doing a NachoKru podcast. Well… *drum-roll* now it’s happening.

Who?
Myself, @weasal and @gramjams.

When?
Saturday February 4th is when we’re recording it but it’ll probably go out a few days later.

Why?
Because, apparently, some people want to hear what our accents sound like…? And it might be funny. Maybe. No guarantees.

Where?
The episode will be available to listen to on podbean. Link to follow.

What’s it about?
Clexa. It’s an excuse for us to discuss cracky headcanons and AUs, banter about Clexa, drag Season 4 of the NoFunDred, all that good stuff. Oh, yeah, and we’re going to be reading excerpts from DWBYG. May also feature dad jokes and quality puns. Did I mention Clexa?

Want to participate?
If there are any questions or headcanons you’d like us to discuss during the podcast, be they silly, serious, or sinful, send them in

Yup it’s happening, the podcast event of 2017…..and there will DEFINITELY be puns and dad jokes.

This could very well be one of the best things to happen this year, so pass it on.

Maybe, for a serious subject, you could discuss the importance of fan fiction in re-shaping the Lexa/Clexa tragedy for future audience/readers?

demandbetter:

this is such an underrated clexa moment like we all notice and talk about protective lexa which is true, but no one’s really talked about why it’s important. Clarke’s face in the second gif says everything. She is scared. She’s 18 and she spent her whole life in a box and suddenly she’s in a foreign place and people are dying and they are at war and she’s right on the front lines and she’s freakin scared. and then there’s lexa, who she has feelings for and who she knows has feelings for her, fighting right next to her, strong and brave, and making sure she’s safe and protected. and you can see even through clarke’s fear that lexa’s support helps her. it helps her find strength and security and makes her feel like she’s not alone anymore. they can do this together.

and that’s what makes lexa’s betrayal later hurt so damn much. clarke truly believed that she and lexa were in it together, that they would fight and win together. “not everyone, not you. you should come with me to the capitol. for those we’ve lost, and those we soon shall find. no, you stay with clarke.”

she truly believed it was her and lexa against the world, until it wasn’t.

Yet another reason why the writers of this show suck.

They destroyed a great alliance just for shock value (having Lexa take a ‘deal’ that made no sense for her to take just so Clarke can be abandoned in the narrative and have everyone hate Lexa).  Waste. Waste.  Waste.

ok so hi i don’t know if you remember when you wrote this but you said something about eliza last summer placating the fans like instead of being a clexa stan or something. after seen the unity days stuff today i think i agree with that but did you mean she’s not a stan?

I do remember. Personally, I don’t ‘get’ stanning. It does suggest to me a little more than just being a casual fan of something (and I know it doesn’t apply to everyone who refers to themselves as ‘stans’), maybe, for some, to the point of it being a little unhealthy. Obsessive, perhaps.

One of the most heartbreaking points about the Lexa issue is so many fans who felt invalidated by it.  I think Miss Taylor recognised that and sought to comfort. I don’t think that makes her a ‘stan.’  I’m not really interested in the UD con since it is a promotional event, and I think anything the actors say should be taken with a pinch of salt. Clexa fans who are looking for validation or something to hang on to – I wish there was some way to help them let go (not of what they love, just the pain the show has given them).

weareadvocates:

I just watched this and, while I overwhelmingly found it original and moving, I did note that lesbians/bisexuals got the “death” episode and spent a solid chunk of time talking about men.

I imagine this is because it was written and directed by men and we all know men find nothing more beautiful and poignant than *tragic*lesbian*love*. It’s like they see two queer women and are like “you know what would be profound if they fuck then angst then die.”

I did enjoy it. The end was ultimately uplifting and the premise was unique and intriguing. This Black Mirror episode made me cry in a good way.

I’m just a little crotchety.

I agree with above poster – but I do think that, for the most part, what resonated about this episode (for some) maybe had something to do with the death of a certain lesbian character earlier in the year.  Lexa died to fulfill an AI storyline and was later seen in digital form, to reunite with her beloved Clarke in a virtual reality.

San Junipero, whatever its faults, took a strangely similar tack but spun it into a happy ending – the kind Lexa would never have – and it didn’t hurt that the women in this episode could easily have been AU versions of Clarke and Lexa. It made the episode almost creepily prescient to me, as it had to be filmed before Lexa’s death ever aired, yet it fed right into where Lexa/Clexa fandom was heading.

I saw more Clexa fans delighted with this episode, where, even though they died, the lovers live on in their own little ‘heaven on earth.’   If you read any Clexa fan fiction, you’ll know that happy endings are very important to those writers/readers.

god i felt such rage reading sar’s posts! i don’t blame anyone for sharing it but it hurts so much. its worse now b/c there are clexas BeGGING for them to bring lexa back. i think he’s just going to spit on them. it’s going to make everyone with this show look bad. i just wanted to thnak YOu for being so supportive this last yr. i hope you not watching either.

I hope my reposting it wasn’t a major trigger for you, that wasn’t my intention and hope you’re okay.  I do agree, though, that what happened was so wrong and disrespectful and I do worry about those very fans you mention who are campaigning for Lexa’s return – they’re going to be so disappointed and there is no need for them to be hurt again. I worry, too, that after being so humiliated this past year, he might have written something in just to spite those very fans who helped bring his show such positive attention and acclaim – and who rightly called him out for using and abusing their trust.

I live in Scotland, so no live watching from me, though I’m sure I’ll pay attention to what happens.  One thing to watch out for: any interviews/promotional work the cast/crew does. Regardless of how ‘supportive’ fans might imagine these people to be of Clexa/Lexa, this is their job and there is no reason to discuss Lexa at all – and this is bound to lead to more dragging and disturbance in the (ex?) fandom.  Again, more agony that need not happen.  Anyone harmed by this show, I hope they stay away from all of it.  Thank you for writing and apologies for my rambly response.

unicyclehippo:

anyway i was just thinking abt clarke & lexa in the context of like, aus? & soul mates & stuff like that & they’re really the only pairing that i’ve ever felt compelled to be like yeah this is possible They Are Soulmates, if there are parallel & alternate universes i would anticipate that in their reality they would be a couple in each of them bc like. when u think abt it, the odds of them ever meeting & the odds of them looking past every reason to kill the other or whatever, the odds of them ending up as a couple are so so sO slim. except. EXCEPT if u consider the fact that they felt so much for the other?? like if its just an ordinary love then idk maybe they would have ignored it entirely?? maybe nothing would have happened?? but like they felt something that couldn’t be denied or ignored & i’ve never seen that before?? not in a way that actually Meant something to me?? so like. when u consider the odds of them ending up together, realistically they are very small but then when u factor in this way that they feel for the other, then its literally like the odds are close to 100% theres no way that they aren’t soulmates

What the fans saw vs. what the show actually gave.

The potential wasted because it wasn’t the story they were telling.

Bah humbug.
